Does Olive place the order?
No. Olive can prepare your Kroger cart. You review it and pay on Kroger. Olive does not access payment methods or check out for you.
Is my Kroger password safe?
Olive never receives it. You sign in with Kroger, which gives Olive limited permission to work with your cart. Olive cannot access card numbers, and you can revoke access from Kroger.
What savings does Olive show?
Only real markdowns: the difference between the promotion and regular price. Olive does not invent savings or clip digital coupons; Kroger handles coupons.
Are the prices exact?
They are current Kroger catalog prices. Loyalty pricing, coupons, and by-weight items can change the final total, so Olive labels totals as estimates.
Shopping with Olive
How do I add things?
Start with a list, meal, or budget, for example, “milk, eggs, coffee,” “chicken tacos for four,” or “3 dinners under $45.” Olive prices items at your store and prepares a list.
What’s the Sunday cart?
It is an optional weekly draft. Olive can plan and price a week from your saved recipes and ratings, then leave it for review. Nothing goes to Kroger without your confirmation.
Will Olive swap things without asking?
No. Olive shows cheaper or usual-brand options for you to choose. Your stated allergies, dietary restrictions, and never-buys are treated as hard limits.
What do “Best value” and “Your usual brands” mean?
Best value favors a good price per ounce. Your usual brands favors items you have chosen before, while still showing cheaper alternatives as an option.
Using Olive in Claude or ChatGPT
Can I use Olive inside Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. Add Olive as a tool, then ask your AI to price a list or prepare a cart in chat. Setup is at shopolive.xyz/connect.
Does that cost anything?
Olive’s public pricing does not need an Olive account. Your AI host may have its own plan or limits.
What can Olive do there?
It can price a list, show real markdowns, read the minimum shopping context you allow, and prepare a cart after you connect Kroger. You always check out on Kroger.
Is my Kroger account safe when I connect it to my AI?
Your Kroger login stays with Kroger. You create a separate, revocable Olive key for your AI; it cannot place an order or access payment.
When something goes sideways
Why couldn’t Olive find an item?
The item may be unavailable at your store or too specific for the catalog search. Try a simpler name, such as “cheddar” instead of a full product description.
The cart total on Kroger doesn’t match Olive’s.
Kroger applies loyalty prices and by-weight adjustments at checkout. Olive gives an estimate; the Kroger cart is the final price.
